I am Duhita, founder of

Studio Lilaya.

I’m a qualified Architect from India with a Masters in Landscape Architecture from the University of Edinburgh, and a Masters in Urban Planning and Design from Oxford Brookes University.

I have extensive experience in the architectural design space, working on communicating conceptual outlooks to client teams and planners for high-end, large scale projects as well as for intimate personal spaces.

I started Studio Lilaya as an art, illustration and concept studio, to convey the ethos and emotive qualities we aim to create as designers.

Our Ethos

prakriyā . iti . līlāya

The name of the studio comes from the Sanskrit word, Līlā (lee-la), which is the spontaneous creative expression of life itself. We take this ethos, engaging in a process of discovery, prakriyā (pra-kree-ya), to uncover the spirit of a place.

We translate this spirit in our work, through a playful and creative expression, līlāya (lee-laa-ya), celebrating the joys we experience in community and our natural environments.

    A two-point perspective sketch showing your scheme in the wider context and conveying the high level design intent.

  • Elevated Perspective

    A three-point perspective sketch where you don’t see the horizon line but shows the materials, textures and planting in greater detail.

Studio Lilaya also offers design services for gardens and public spaces.

With prior experience in multiple public realm and commercial outdoor space design in London, we can help you envision your outdoor spaces for feasibility, to help you tackle the complexities of a site, while also envisioning the joys of a garden.

All our feasibilities will include site study diagrams, material palettes including planting palettes, as well as a few lovely sketches, to help you understand the look and feel before you need to commit to a project.
